Bridgetech Asia Limited's ("BT
Asia") vision is to gain financial success through promoting the greatest social good in
Greater China by providing every consumer access to the world’s
best medical technology. BT Asia's initial efforts are focused on oncology solutions for
Greater China. There is a reason for our focus. Our values and our mission are based upon the
vision and experience of our founder Herbert Yao-Sing Wong, PhD.
Cancer does not discriminate. We know. Herbert passed away on June 19, 2006 after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. Herb was in the
prime of his life. He was 53 and never smoked.
Herbert was born in Hong Kong in 1952. He left his homeland in 1973 to attend college in the United States. By 1980 he had obtained his PhD from the University of California, Santa
Barbara. He served as Executive Vice President of the Santa Barbara Applied Research, Inc. from 1981 – 1986. He was the Group Vice President of American
Medical International, Inc. from 1986-1990. In the 1990’s Herbert was the founder of Quantum Solutions, an international management consulting and training firm. It was later
purchased by Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation.
From
1992-1997 Herbert worked for Columbia/HCA as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, a Member of the Executive Management Committee, and Chairman of the technology steering committee. At that
time, Columbia/HCA was an international healthcare company with 289,000 employees, 360 hospitals, 150 surgery centers, and 600 home health agencies. Herbert was the driving force
behind Columbia's strategic vision which profoundly impacted the way healthcare was delivered in the United States. Herbert was the chairman of Health Answers and founder of United Premier
Medical Group, which partners with Johns Hopkins International in providing obstetric and gynecological services in major Chinese cities.
BT Asia was Herbert’s idea. It was his vision to create a company that could offer shareholders a significant opportunity while advancing the fight against cancer. It is a
double win, doing well financially while doing good for society. China was his home, and home too to the world’s largest oncology patient population. Herbert wanted to make a
difference, and China was his passion. China’s unprecedented economic development is fueling the world’s fastest growing healthcare market, just as he predicted. It is our honor to
implement his vision. He was our mentor, he was our friend. This quest is personal for us. We will touch lives through our success in the marketplace. Herbert’s legacy will endure.
